Below are two videos showing the amazing airplane assembly process of two latest commercial airplanes companies - Airbus and Boeing. See if you can compare the similarities and contrast the differences in the planning and assembling processes of these two gigantic airplanes.
Consider the amount of logistics planning and execution involved in having the parts (fuslage, wings, tail, etc) manufactured all over the world and finally shipped and assembled at their respective assembly plants.
Just imagine the millions of parts needed to put the airplanes together and to finally get them up into the sky. Not a single wire, bolt and nut must be missing in order to ensure safety and comfort of passengers.
In the second video, you will notice a manufacturing simulation process (around the 4th minute segment) that was carried out by the engineers, what do you think is the purpose of this manufacturing simulation?
